Werner Herzog lädt zur Rogue Film School. Was der Guardian schreibt, kling sympathisch:

"The Rogue Film School is not for the faint-hearted," said the film-maker. "It is for those who have travelled on foot, who have worked as bouncers in sex clubs or as wardens in a lunatic asylum, for those who are willing to learn about lock-picking or forging shooting permits in countries not favouring their projects.

"In short: it is for those who have a sense for poetry. For those who are pilgrims. For those who can tell a story to four-year-old children and hold their attention. For those who have a fire burning within. For those who have a dream.

"Censorship will be enforced," added Herzog, declaring: "There will be no talk of shamans, of yoga classes, nutritional values, herbal teas, discovering your Boundaries and Inner Growth." Students should not bring their laptops, he said, likewise mobile phones or pagers.

Was mir fehlt: Eine Anleitung zum Bankraub. Den hatte Herzog im großartigen Buch Herzog on Herzog noch allen angehenden Filmemachern empfohlen, auf dass sie sich nicht der Filmförderung preisgeben müssen.

gleichzeitig romatisch und romantikfeindlich. den widerspruch bearbeitet herr herzog ja ausch bereits einige jahrzehnte.
und in seinen "seminaren" dann auch gleich noch ein widerspruch, naemlich gegen das handwerk:
"The Rogue Film School will not teach anything technical related to film-making. For this purpose, please enroll at your local film school."

und fuer das Handwerk: "more practical subjects, will be the art of lockpicking. Traveling on foot. The exhilaration of being shot at unsuccessfully. The athletic side of filmmaking. The creation of your own shooting permits. The neutralization of bureaucracy. Guerrilla tactics. Self reliance."

Herzog so als eine Art Verfechter des Spätidealismus. Unbedingt an sich und seine Ideen glauben, unbedingt den Kitsch abwehren - all dies ohne systematisches Erkennen der Schnittmenge.
Würd mich freuen zu hören, dass einer ein Guerilla-mobile phone in die Seminare eingeschleust hat und eine low-fi schauerlichen Film über die Seminare selbst gemacht hat...
